The ever-charming Ishaan Khatter has shared the first few glimpses of his upcoming war film, Pippa. Playing the role of Captain Balram Singh Mehta, the film is based on the life of the war veteran who fought the Indo-Pakistan war in 1971 along with his siblings. Ishaan took to Instagram to announce the completion of the film while giving us a small glimpse of his role along with some fun behind-the-scenes moments.

Based on the book, The Burning Chaffees: A Soldier’s First-Hand Account of the 1971 War, which is written by Mehta himself, the Dhadak star is starring alongside Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Soni Razdan. While Thakur and Painyuli will be playing the role of Khatter’s siblings, Soni Razdan will be seen portraying the part of their mother.

Produced by RSVP and Roy Kapoor Films, the movie’s title is taken from the Russian war tank PT-76, which was popularly known as ‘Pippa’. The film is directed by Raja Krishna Menon, who has previously given us some blockbuster hits like Airlift, starring Akshay Kumar, and the Indian adaptation of Chef, starring Saif Ali Khan.

Ishaan was previously seen in his 2020 film Khaali Peeli where he starred opposite Ananya Panday. He was also seen in the Netflix series adaptation of Vikram Seth’s bestselling book, A Suitable Boy where he gained nationwide recognition for his role of Maan Kapoor, a young and charming boy that’s falling into the black hole of forbidden love.

Khatter is also getting ready to star in an upcoming Horror-comedy film, Phone Bhoot starring alongside Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
