Vidya Balan Talks About How It Is A Great Time To Be A Female Actor In The Indian Film Industry

Vidya Balan is one of the most versatile actors of our generation. She has delivered some of the most brilliant performances in the Indian film industry. With her outstanding ability to bring any character to life, whether it is as the iconic Silk Smitha from The Dirty Picture or as an ardent forest officer Vidya Vincent in Sherni, Vidya Balan is a true icon.

Last seen in Jalsa alongside Shefali Shah, the Padma Shri awardee spoke about how great it is that female actors are getting better roles in Indian films today. “I have said this before, that it is a better time to be a female actor than a male actor. I hope it gets better. Whenever I say how can this get any better, the universe sends even better stories my way,” she said. Vidya also adds that she feels that her career has been extremely fulfilling but she still has a long way to go.

Vidya Balan is known to play strong, women-led roles that are pivotal to the film. The actor has given three back-to-back hits with Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, and Jalsa.
