The Best Beauty Looks Spotted At The 2023 Golden Globes

The 2023 Golden Globes kicked off this year’s awards season with a bang, and your favourite celebs did not disappoint. Apart from the critically-acclaimed films and television shows winning trophies, including one for Telugu hit RRR, there was another show-stopping element of the event that was impossible for us to take our eyes off of—the beauty looks.
Naturally, the night’s events brought out Hollywood’s best, clad in gorgeous ensembles and flawless make-up, hair and nail looks that set the tone for an award season full of glitz and glamour. From ’60s-inspired hair to monochromatic make-up, this year’s Golden Globes are full of beauty looks we already want to replicate.
While the nominees graced the carpet outside of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, we curated our own ‘awards’ for best beauty moments of the night. Find the winners ahead.

Jenna Ortega
Jenna Ortega debuted a new auburn curtain lob on the Golden Globes red carpet and wore a subtle, smokey-eyed make-up look. Her warm-toned eyeshadow was the foundation for the sharp double cat-eye liner look taking centre stage. The Wednesday star rocked a swipe of white liner on her waterline and wore long, choppy lower lashes, pulling together her look with a bronzed contour and nude lip.

Jennifer Coolidge
As a nod to season 2 of White Lotus‘ dreamy Italian setting, hair stylist Janine Thompson channelled ’50s Italian cinema sirens by creating voluminous, face-framing, shoulder-length curls on Jennifer Coolidge, who won for Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Limited Series. For her first ever Golden Globe win, she entrusted celebrity make-up artist Lilly Keys to make sure she was picture perfect, who revealed that the actress took inspiration from classic ’60s silver screen sirens, such as Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren for the look. The MUA also only used products from Victoria Beckham’s own make-up line to achieve the desired effect. Coolidge “already has a very Bardot look about her,” so Lilly highlighted her natural beauty with a dramatic but soft winged eyeliner, ’60s fluffy lashes, glowing, flushed skin, and nude lips.

Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain was a vision in crystals as she graced the 80th Golden Globes carpet. The George & Tammy actress matched her captivatingly embellished gown with “Grace Kelly-inspired glam,” as described by celebrity make-up artist Kristofer Buckle in a press release. He used a glowy cream highlighter on her cheekbones, bridge of the nose, shoulders, and collarbone for an ethereal glow. For the eyes, Buckle applied a “deep, red-brown shadow” along her lash line to “emphasise her green eyes,” which extended past her lids like a winged eyeliner. Chastain’s lips were then perfected with the famous Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk.

Letitia Wright
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever may have been one of the most recent blockbusters to hit the theatres, but Letitia Wright has been dominating red carpets for quite some time now. The actress wore a watercolor-esque Prada sheath dress and made healthy, glowing skin her main accessory. To prep Wright’s skin and create that next-level glow, make-up artist Grace Pae used CurrentBody Skin LED Eye Perfector to diminish the appearance of dark circles, elasticity, fine lines, and puffiness.

Emma D’Arcy
Proving that Wednesday-core is alive and well, Emma D’Arcy walked the red carpet with an indigo cropped cut and icy blue glitter tears—an edgy take on TikTok’s ‘crying girl’ make-up.

Lily James
Pam & Tommy nominee Lily James looked every bit the starlet from head-to-toe when she hit the carpet in an Old Hollywood-inspired glam look, with a voluminous chin-length bob and a sultry yet subtle make-up look.

Margot Robbie
Margot Robbie paired her Barbie-esque custom-made pink Chanel gown with a dark red lip colour and matching blush.

Michelle Yeoh
Michelle Yeoh stunned with sleek side-parted hair, neutral rose-kissed skin, and chunky black winged liner.

Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez arrived at the event in a sea of Valentino velvet, which make-up artist Hung Vanngo tied into her glam for the glitzy night. Vanngo complemented her billowing plum sleeves with a dusty mauve eye and nude lips. Gomez’s shiny and tousled high ponytail and peach make-up proved that carpet glam can be effortless and still make a statement.

Viola Davis
Viola Davis looked positively radiant in a royal blue gown and metallic emerald eyeliner traced along her lower lash line for an unexpected pop of colour by make-up artist Sergio López-Rivera. The pro finished the look with the swipe of a mauve-y, nude lip shade to complement the rest of her colour palette.
