We were barely over the fact that actor Brad Pitt is now an artist (his sculptures are on exhibit in Finland!) when he made his debut in the beauty world with a line of genderless, eco-friendly, vegan skincare products.
The actor’s skincare line is called Le Domaine and sources ingredients from his French vineyard Chateau Miraval.
Le Domaine has, so far, four products, including a cleansing emulsion, two types of creams, and a serum. The brand proudly claims that all these products are created with 96-99 percent natural origin ingredients and are 100 percent vegan.
The website states that they have a “very strict blacklist” of ingredients that are “subject to controversy regarding the environment or the natural balance of your body”. These include your usual suspects, like parabens, silicones, microplastics, or synthetic oils.
Researchers at Pitt’s labs use grape-based antioxidants and have developed an “exclusive molecule” called GSM10 that’s present in all the products. GSM10 is an “active compound with maximized antioxidative powers, is made from a combination of grape varieties carefully selected from the vineyards.”
Pitt not only wants us to have beautiful and healthy skin but also work towards protecting the environment at the same time. All the bottles and jars of the Le Domaine products are recyclable and the caps on the refillable bottles have been upcycled from old wine casks.
“It is about imitating nature’s organic cycles, its original beauty. In nature, there is no concept of waste. Every discarded thing becomes nourishment for another. This is circularity for Le Domaine,” says the actor.
Pitt’s range of skincare products might be super sustainable and great for your skin and the environment but will set you back by a few bucks since the products retail for above INR 30,000!
