As we step into the Barbiecore era, one certain celebrity has been enjoying this trend more than anyone out there. Kim Kardashian is the queen of introducing and reviving trends, so it was only about time that she gave us the barbie hairdo of the season.

The bouncy updo is chic and very unlike Kardashian’s signature water waves. And, obviously, the look went viral almost immediately—people all over the world are already recreating this look for the fall season. Lukcy for us, the entrepreneur’s trusted hairstylist, Chris Appleton, recently shared the deets on how to recreate this super quick and easy look. So, take notes people!

Instructions:

Step 1: First brush your hair completely to get rid of any knots. Then, tie your hair into a simple ponytail. Make sure that it’s neither too high nor too low.

Step 2: Next, take two transparent elastic bands and loop them together in a crisscross pattern. Once you have secured the two bands, take two bobby pins and attach them to either side of the elastic band. This will help in securing your hair at the back.

Step 3: Once the elastic band is ready, twist your ponytail upwards and attach the bobby pins with the transparent elastic bands on either side of your head to secure the pony with the bands.

Step 4: After you’ve secured the pony, just fan out the hair on top of your head and add some hairspray to set it in place. Then, if you want to add more volume to the front section of your hair, take your bangs and curl them away from your face with a two-inch curling iron. Run your fingers through the curls to ruffle them up and finish off with some more setting spray.
