Ketchup Or Make-Up? Rihanna Wants You To Guess

Ever since Rihanna launched her beauty brand Fenty Beauty, it has gained cult status around the world, mainly because of its superior quality and inclusive shades of lip glosses, foundations, highlighters, and more. But the brand’s latest drop has people scratching their heads in confusion.

The brand has collaborated with disruptive art collective MSCHF and released a lip gloss set that could be ketchup if you’re unlucky.

The Brooklyn-based group has created a set that comes with six packets that look like ketchup sachets. You’ll have to play a Russian Roulette-esque game, without all the danger of dying from a bullet, and guess whether the packet contains ketchup or lip gloss.

The tricky, and messy, part here is that you’d have no way of knowing which is which unless you rip open the packet. You could either end up with the new tomato red gloss by the beauty brand or plain old ketchup for your fries.

This is not the first time MSCHF has lived up to their name. The group is responsible for the controversial Satan Shoes released in collaboration with Lil Nas X, which supposedly contained one drop of human blood and the Eat The Rich popsicles that poked fun at billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

This new drop has been met with mixed reactions. Many fans are super enthused with the idea of ending up with almost $25 worth of ketchup packets, calling the collaboration “genius” on Instagram and TikTok. But there’s a large majority that feels this is going too far because of the high price tag for just a chance at getting a little bit of gloss. The fact that the ‘ketchup’ packets need to be opened to find out whether they have the gloss or not is also becoming contentious as the packets are not re-sealable.

What do you think of this novel idea?
