Fans of The Boys have a lot to look forward to in June as a new trailer for the third season of the show has just dropped and it looks even bloodier, gorier, and crazier than ever.

Ever since its debut back in 2019, the show has become a global hit and the upcoming season looks equally promising. The last season ended with the shocking revelation that Congresswoman Neuman (Claudia Doumit) was the secret villain behind all the head-exploding attacks. Last we saw, Hughie (Jack Quaid) had joined her campaign to work alongside her to stop the corrupt superhero organisation Vought Enterprises by bureaucratic means.

Neuman is a big presence in the new trailer with Hughie still working with her, much to Butcher’s (Karl Urban) displeasure. Homelander (Antony Starr) can also be seen trying to re-establish his image as the good superhero after being in a very public relationship with Nazi-superhero Stormfront. We also get scary glimpses at his rapidly deteriorating mental state.

There are some new faces along with the old ones, with Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy debuting this season. According to series creator Eric Kripke, the new superhero is the “very first Superhero” and “Homelander before Homelander”, which doesn’t sound very comforting. Also, Butcher might also be turning over to the Dark Side as we see him injecting himself with a Compound-V-esque solution that would apparently give him temporary superpowers.

Along with the original cast, and aside from Ackles, there are some new additions with Sean Patrick Flannery as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk, and Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic. The Walking Dead’s Laurie Holden will play Crimson Countess.

The third season of The Boys will premiere on June 3, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
